Who We Are

H2Y is a play on "H20," the chemical formula for water, and suggests a new horizon, representing a fresh start with opportunities. H2Y can be further expanded to "Horizon Hope for Youth" which emphasizes the organization's focus on providing hope and opportunities to youth facing challenges. Our mission is to provide resources and support to these individuals so they can achieve their full potential.

Queeny Gong

Queeny is a junior at Sentinel Secondary School in West Vancouver, Canada. She established H2Y in hopes of giving back to her community and providing all students with a chance at education. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, spending time with her friends, and cuddling with her cat.

Selin Motevalli

Selin is a junior at Mulgrave School in West Vancouver, Canada. As an enthusiastic volunteer, she has a variety of experiences, from playing the piano at her local hospice to being a physiotherapy assistant at a clinic. In her free time, she enjoys playing basketball, reading, and baking cookies.

Run-Qian Gong

Run-Qian Gong is a junior at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is interested in computer and data science and has interned as an Investment Data Scientist at Advent International. He loves to program, go to the gym, swim, and hang out with friends.

Daniel Jin

Daniel is a junior at Basis Park Lane Harbour in Huizhou, China. My academic interests revolve around business and economics, and I've studied AP Macro and Microeconomics, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus AB. Outside of school, I enjoy playing basketball and golf during my free time.

Weiss Wu

Weiss is a sophomore at Sentinel Secondary School in West Vancouver, Canada. He is eager to participate in leadership activities and has hosted a fundraising event for BC Cancer Foundation. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, playing Minecraft, and hanging out with friends.

Amitis Ghahremani

Amitis is a junior at Sentinel Secondary School in West Vancouver, Canada. She is dedicated to helping her community and ensuring all students can succeed, regardless of socioeconomic barriers. In her free time, she loves reading, finding new cafes, and going out with friends.
